Risk of 2nd premature baby

Hi everyone

I've just got back from seeing my consultant at the hospital and she's said a definite no to me going away to Turkey at 31 weeks Bit of a blow but her reason is that I had Jas at 34 weeks and often 2nd babies can be even more premature than first.

I just wondered if those of you who had premature babies found this to be the case? If so, what differences did you notice or, indeed, did you go on to be full-term with subsequent babies?

They don't know why Jas came early - one of those things as I didn't suffer any of the usual probable causes such as pre-eclampsia or protein in the urine, etc.

She did mention I could go term (but no further apparently due to my age ) and I might want to kill her come the end of August when I would be sunning myself on a beach

I'm sorry, that stinks that you don't get to go on your trip, but I hope everything else works out healthily (is that a word?) for the rest of your pregnancy!

both mine were late hun but my mum had me and my brothers premature.

I was the earliest at 5 weeks early and my brother was about 4 weeks early as was my youngest brother.

Sorry to hear you've missed out on your hols hun, but maybe for the best

my sis had her first two babies term then her 3 at 28 weeks he ok and u wouldnt no it now lol and then the ones after at term apart from the twins were 4 weeks early but a good weight

all her term babies were girls and her prem was a boy they say she cant carry boys to term
