My DAD had an accident at work last night

Got a phonecall at work last night from Mark at abour 9.30pm

My dad had an accident at work and was taken to hospital. He works at the Steelworks and was just lighting a furness and there must of been a crack or hole in the gas pipe (ie faulty) and it blew up in his face throwing him across the building and covering him in flames.

Obviously he had all his safety gear on - it was so hot that his fire jacket as smoking.

The ambulance arrived and put a face mask on him at the scene. It's affected one side of his face which is black (sorry if tmi) and he was kept in the same hospital last night as he had [roblems breathing and an irregular heartbeat.

We are waiting to hear if he is being transferred this mornng to the burns unit in Hull.

Please can you send me positive vibes.

Not sure what i'm going to say to Georgie.

I'm at work at the moment so will pop back on later today and let you know how he's getting on!

He was allowed home three days later and his progress is fantastic!!!

He's been visiting a consultant at another burns unit (Pinderfields) but other than no eyebrows and eyelashes and a burnt nose and ears the blackness is peeling off leaving an extremely white skin tone so his face is completely discoloured from his forehead down. But they are really, really pleased

Work however are cheeky and want him to go in too work for half hour each day so they hit their targets and he has injury with no time off! But the doc will not let him back for atleast three weeks!
