U.T.I in pregnancy

water infections!!! i am prone to them since getting one a yr ago , last yr i had about 5 or 6 before getting pregnant in oct , since finding out i was pregnant i went till 25 weeks without one it was great, then each visit to doc or midwife showed something in my pee, finally 2 weeks ago at 31 weeks i was given 3 days of penicillin, thought it was gone , till yesterday i was doing my pee sample for the midwifes appointment and sorry to be gross my pee was strong and smelly so i thought here we go again another infection, midwife picked up on it sent it off to grow whatever is in there and i will get pills when they work out which ones, i am now in pain and feel ill with it aswell as weeing every 20 minutes which is not good . does anyone else suffer , i know i have to drink cranberry and i did try but hated it but will get some later to try again, is there any risks to baby, or me and can i get refered somewhere to help???

I only had 1 UTI and that was just before I was due. I would speak to your GP or MW, I dont think it is right that you are in so much pain.

I've not had a water infection during pregnancy I'm afraid, but a few months ago I had two one after another and was given anti-biotics. Hopefully after the drs have the results back they can treat it properly.

I drank lots of water and tried to avoid spicy foods and citrusy fruits just while I felt a bit more 'normal' down there.

thanks a day of tablets seems to be helping i dont feel too bad today and only got up 4 times in the night to pee which i suppose is better than what it was!!!
