I'm 27 (28 next month!) and my partner is 22. I don't see that age gaps should ever be an issue - it's the maturity gap which is important, and getting along with your partner!

I agree with you both - age doesn't usually make a difference - I've met people who are 35 years of age who are less-mature in their attitudes than some 19 year olds I know!

Everybody is different, and as long as you are in a safe, loving, happy relationship, then that's all that matters. Smile

I'm 38 and John is 52 ( he says's 22 ( in his dreams)) Very Happy .
So there is 14 years between us and it has never been a problem. I think our relationship is more about our personalities , the way we feel about each other and our out look on life rather than how old we are. Age is just a number it does not define who you are.

Idiots can be 20 and 60. Very Happy

I'm 25 and my husband is 31. I do agree that age is just a number and people's maturity can vary so much.

However I am sure i will have changed my mind completely once my daughters become teenagers. Wink

I'm 30 and James is 32.

I haven't got a problem with age gaps either a lot of my friends have 9 + yr gaps in ages between them and their partner/fiance.

Age is just a number it's how you feel about each other that counts.

29 + 33. We have similar childhood/teenage memories of tv, music, news etc. We have a lot in common. I think it is possible for people of any age to fall in love, but I personally have found a small age gap better.

True, an expartner 15 yrs my senior was more immature than my little brother is now!!lol! It depends on the person, and like I said, age doesnt stop people falling in love. But I have found a similar age has helped my relationship. But would I love my hubby whatever his age - quite possibly! He is the best!! (maybe if he was 50 this year I might not be so keen though.... Embarassed )

I'm 24 and he's 23, but there was 5 years between me and my last serious relationship. I think age is irrelevant, as long as you both get on, and are on the same wavelength then who cares if you/he is older or not?

Im 20 and my partner is 24.. but I think there is a slight problem with the age gap at the moment - but its because of my young age.

Im still into going out and having fun (not clubs, just bars etc).. but he is done with all of that and is just into staying at home. I've been with him for 2 and a half years, and so i feel like ive missed out on some things.
