hi, new to jp, i have a daughter, Caitlin June who has Downs syndrome and iam 12wks pregnant. I had a cvs yesterday to see if this baby has DS, has anyone else been through this?.

Hi I'm Tammy:wave: Welcome to JP. I used to babysit a little girl with DS when I was a teenager and she was the sweetest little girl I'd ever met.

My nephew does not have Downes but he does have Aspergers syndrome (sp?) and some other not completely diagnosed problems as well. He's now 20 years old and with the mental capacity of about a 10 year old boy... but he amazes me sometimes with his brightness too... the other day he out of the blue said to me "Aunt Tammy, I guess in about a year we can go out and drink a beer at a bar together" LOL... he'll be 21 in year, it's so hard to believe!

It's been a struggle for my sister and bro-in-law but one well worth it for sure!

I've not experienced downs as a mother but have been lucky enough to of known 2 guys with downs!

They are such lovely intelligent and funny humans!

Congrats on the pregnancy!!! And Cailin June - such a pretty name!

Hiya, I have a two year old dd who has Downd and just had another little girl in october. I declined all the tests, I only had the nuchal scan, more to check the risk of heart defects again, thankfully all was well

There is a lovely downs group you can join online, I have been a member for years
