Amber made me feel reall good tonight!

When Mike and Amber got home from her mom's tonight, she ran in the door, came straight over to me and gave me a big, long hug and told me how much she missed me while she was gone. I guess you guys can imagine how good that made me feel after the whole situation with Marc and Brandi.

Amber is trying to rebuild a relationship with her mom after having a not so good one for many years... she told me this evening after spending a few days with her mom, step dad (who she does not like at all) and her 2 brothers and 2 sisters, she has a much better respect for the love and peace in our home ... she loves her little brothers and sisters alot but it's just not a real happy, homey kind of feeling around her mom's house she says .

I hope that she can continue to build a good relationship with her mom but it does make me feel very happy that she accepts and loves Aaralyn and I both alot We love her too, and I have to say living with a 17 year old girl is giving me a whole new outlook of what I'm in for when Aaralyn is a teenager too Actually if Aaralyn is like Amber at that age, then life will be pretty easy other than the normal high school girl drama that will always go on, for generations to come

Anyway, feelin' real good tonight about life in general and enjoying my peace and quiet around here, but I'll be glad when both girls are back home tomorrow and the general loving, household chaos is here again

Oh yea, Aaralyn went to the National Zoo today in Washington, DC with my sis and bro in law and nephew.... she had a blast, even though the little bugga wouldn't talk to me on the phone to tell me herself. Glad that my sis and family are getting to finally spend some quality time with Aaralyn and her with them

How fantastic hun,you must be so happy that Aaralyn has such a great person(Amber)to look up to and have as a positive influence in her life.
You hear so much about teenagers attitude horror stories but Amber sounds like a really sweet girl with a lot going for her.

Thanks girls! we have really bonded big time over the last few days. Her dad said this morning that he thinks Amber loves me more than him HAHA, I told him that would NEVER happen, she thinks the world of him, I just think she's finding it nice to have a female around more to talk to about "girl" things that Mike just doesn't "get".

Our step dd has the same kind of unloving time at home with her mum, mums boyf and his son! Her mother is slightly off her rocker - but Bel feels her mum wouldn't cope without her and feels guilty for wanting to be with us!

However i'm very proud to have such a lovely step daughter. Georgie and her are sooo close even though we only have step dd at weekends and holidays.
