Painful Joints

Although I'm only 22 I feel like a pensioner... I've got awful joints which click all the time. My knees are the worst and they really hurt if I kneel down, and the joints make a terrible loud crunching sound if I bend at the knee. As well as that (but less often), my ankle, big toes, hips and shoulders also click! I take glucosamine supplements twice a day which are supposed to help build up the cartilage, but I haven't seen any improvement yet after a couple of months of that.
I haven't seen a doctor about it yet - yes, I know I should, but I just never get round to it and work is so busy that there's never a good time to take off... you know how it is!

I just wondered whether anybody else had suffered from problems with their joints and what they'd done about it? My cousin suggested accupuncture - anyone tried this?? I'd definitely try it but I'm a bit scared at the same time!!

I really should go and see a doctor because there is also a history of arthritis on both sides of my family, not very reassuring!! Sad

My husband has Degenerative Disk Disease and has lots of back/leg pain but finds tablets called 'Green Lipped Muscle' very good from the health food shop.

Thanks - I will look those up. I've never heard of degenerative disk disease before - now I'm being paranoid and worrying that I have that! Scared

you might want to get checked over by a chiropractor, McTimoney Chiropractic is a really gentle method of it. Also have a look at blood type diets. I got bad pains in my wrists when I was pregnant with dd4 which were related to eating too much processed wheat, no more cakes and pastries for me back then, but I'm alright now. I also had a problem with choc digestives, gave me cramp in my calves!
