Can anyone help ???

Ok its not a site question but can anyone help me

I have a spyware/malware infecting my pc.

It has done the following things:

1.turned my wallpaper into a red screen with 'YOUR PRIVACY IS IN DANGER - Download privacy protection software now'


2. hijacked my internet explorer homepage and has set it to some fake looking anti-spyware homepage

3. Installed an icon in my taskbar which keeps giving alerts in bubbles

4. Keeps opening up more and more IE windows and going to various anti-spyware pages and messageboxes.

5. Installed 'Error Cleaner', 'Privacy Protector' and 'Spyware&Malware Protection' programs which weren't there before and do not appear in the list of program under the control panel.




Any help apprecaited

omg thats sounds scary. i havent a clue hun but im sure someone will know. my dp would know but hes working. ill ask him when i can, but i hope you get it sorted before then

It does sound scary though... my BF has some spyware problems but I know nothing about any of that stuff. good luck, I hope you get it fixed before there's any serious trouble

Thanks girls its really scary looking the wallpaper its like something out of a horror film and I cant go into properties to change it

This is genuine, my husband is a clever computer fixing monkey.

That will give you the name/s of the virus's. You can then go to:

http://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/virusencyclo/default.asp

and it will give you advice on removing them. Follow the instructions EXACTLY as they are written other wise you could do more harm than good

Download, and install this - should remove any spyware you have (and this sounds very much like spyware)

Well its getting worse cant stay on PC too long as it drives me nuts pop up after pop up

I tried to do what you said hipmomma, did first one OK but didnt give me names etc so couldn't to second one

Rob i installed did search and destroy and still all same as above

I had the same problem with a friend of mines PC, we ended up having to re-format the PC...everything we tried would'nt shift it and I tried about 3 or 4 different programs...I think thats going to be the only way if nothing will get rid of it...they should make the damn things illegal!

Dont know lol I left him to it, took him about an hour he is a computer whiz kid lmao he only 16, i told him he should go into IT but he doing plumbing lol
