There's a wealth of washable nappies (and I'm not just talking about terry squares!) out there, but all the web sites are so confusing. But there's a really good one for beginners

It's just basic stuff and help, and not just trying to sell nappies.
You can email questions directly, without having to fill in forms or register or anything like that and you get personal answers back pretty quickly as a rule.
